Draftsman (Fitout)

About the role

Careers International is recruiting a full-time Draftsman (Fitout) in Dubai. The role covers preparing detailed drawings for interior fit-out projects, coordinating with design, project and site teams, and keeping drawing records ready for approval.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare shop drawings, as-built drawings and detailed joinery drawings from design specifications and project requirements.
• Read and interpret architectural, structural, MEP and ID drawings to produce coordinated layouts.
• Ensure all drawings comply with local codes, standards and client requirements.
• Update drawings according to site conditions, coordination meetings or client feedback.
• Collaborate with design, project and site teams to resolve drawing issues and technical discrepancies.
• Maintain drawing records and submit drawings on time for approvals.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers for drawing input where needed.
• Attend site visits for measurement verification and drawing validation.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, specifically in interior fit-out or joinery works.
• Sound knowledge of materials, construction techniques and fit-out detailing.
• Ability to interpret complex architectural and engineering drawings.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Other drafting software such as Revit, SketchUp or 3Ds Max is a plus.
