Draftsman – Technical Drawing Specialist

About the role

The Draftsman will prepare, update, and maintain technical drawings for municipal infrastructure, transportation, road, and public works projects in Abu Dhabi. Working closely with engineers, the role ensures accurate documentation that complies with municipal regulations and project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare technical drawings, plans, sections, profiles and detailed illustrations based on engineering and project requirements.
• Convert sketches, field measurements and engineering data into accurate AutoCAD drawings for roads, utilities, landscaping and public facilities.
• Assist in the preparation of design and construction drawings and verify accuracy before submission.
• Update existing drawings to reflect approved design changes, maintain revision control and versioning.
• Prepare final drawing packages for implementation and ensure proper filing and archiving.
• Utilize AutoCAD and other approved drafting software, adhering to CAD standards, layering conventions and drawing templates.
• Support engineers by gathering technical information, coordinating with project teams and participating in design review meetings.
• Conduct site visits to collect measurements, verify existing conditions and produce as‑built drawings.
• Coordinate with survey and engineering teams to ensure field data accuracy.
• Ensure all drawings comply with municipal regulations and internal drafting standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in technical drafting for construction or municipal infrastructure projects.
• Ability to interpret engineering data, field measurements and municipal regulations.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective collaboration with engineers, surveyors and project teams.
• Willingness to conduct site visits and verify as‑built conditions.
