Draughtsman – Prototype Assembly & 3D Modelling

About the role

The Draughtsman will support product development by assembling prototypes, conducting field trials, creating 3D models, and designing packaging. The role ensures all design outputs meet the required specifications and maintains a safe, organized workspace.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble prototypes and conduct field trials to verify design compliance.
• Create accurate 3D models and 2D drawings using SAP ECTR and develop Bills of Materials.
• Design packaging solutions, including product packing, leaflets, and catalogues.
• Maintain workplace safety and organization by applying 6S principles.
• Prepare prototype displays, demo samples, and monitor new product assembly trials.
• Organize design‑store materials, coordinate with production, and manage inventory of samples.
• Prepare and maintain documentation in line with NPD stage‑gate deliverables.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Design or a related field.
• 0–2 years of experience (fresh graduate level).

Required skills

• SAP ECTR for 3D modelling and documentation.
• AutoCAD and other CAD software packages.
• Ability to develop Bills of Materials and perform tolerance stack‑up analysis.
