Dry Utilities Engineer

About the role

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Dry Utilities Engineer to join its Land Development team in Dubai. The engineer will support the technical delivery of master‑planning and land‑development projects across the emirate, ensuring utility networks meet authority standards and client expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare utility designs and calculations in line with authority standards and project requirements.
• Develop electrical load calculations, LV schedules, voltage‑drop and cable de‑rating analyses.
• Design HV/MV/LV networks, producing single‑line diagrams and infrastructure layouts.
• Create street‑lighting layouts, single‑line diagrams, voltage‑drop calculations and lux studies using tools such as DiaLux.
• Design telecoms infrastructure, incorporating GSM coverage requirements and producing coverage drawings.
• Produce technical reports, design deliverables and presentation material for project submissions and approvals.
• Support cost and quantity estimation for dry‑utilities services and identify optimisation opportunities.
• Coordinate submissions, reviews and approvals with contractors and authorities, flagging any deviations.
• Liaise with developers, clients and stakeholders to provide progress updates and facilitate decision‑making.
• Provide regular inputs to project and design managers and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated design delivery.
