Dry Utilities Engineer

About the role

GHD is seeking an experienced Dry Utilities Engineer to join its Abu Dhabi office. The role focuses on master‑planning, design approval and delivery of dry infrastructure projects, working closely with local authorities and multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Review client briefs (RFPs) and prepare tailored proposals.
• Lead small teams to deliver civil infrastructure designs, specifications, reports and schedules.
• Monitor and control project budgets and schedules to meet financial targets.
• Produce high‑quality drawings in coordination with drafters.
• Prepare tender submissions, including cost and time estimates.
• Liaise with municipalities, utilities and consultants to secure approvals.
• Coordinate with internal project managers, sub‑consultants and other disciplines.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff, providing technical guidance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in dry utilities design and delivery.
• Proven ability to obtain design approvals and manage relationships with local authorities.
• Strong leadership, communication and mentoring capabilities.
• Eligibility to become a Registered Engineer in the UAE.
