Duty Manager – Engineering (Hotel Operations)

About the role

The Duty Manager – Engineering will lead the engineering and buggy teams on shift at Jumeirah Saadiyat Island, ensuring seamless operation of all technical services and guest transport assets. This role combines hands‑on maintenance oversight with leadership of frontline staff in a luxury resort environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise engineering and buggy teams during shifts, deploying staff according to SOPs.
• Monitor and prioritize preventive and reactive maintenance tasks, ensuring timely completion.
• Verify operational readiness of buggies, including charging/fueling, cleanliness, and safety equipment.
• Enforce HSE protocols, permit‑to‑work procedures, and PPE usage; coordinate audits with Security and HSE.
• Respond to breakdowns, utility outages, and transport delays; prepare detailed incident reports.
• Manage buggy scheduling for VIP guests and large events, providing engineering support for setups.
• Liaise with Front Office, Concierge, Housekeeping, and Events to meet operational requirements.
• Maintain accurate logs in CMMS/CAFM for engineering tasks and buggy dispatch records.
• Conduct shift briefings, on‑the‑job training, and reinforce safety and service standards.
