Efficiency & Design Assurance Lead – Telecom Power Systems

About the role

Helios Towers is seeking a Group Engineering Efficiency & Design Assurance Lead to ensure that power and hybrid system designs across its tower portfolio are safe, maintainable and deliver the expected performance in real‑world conditions. Reporting to Group Engineering, you will act as the bridge between design intent and operational delivery, driving right‑first‑time implementation and accelerating the transition to zero‑diesel‑generator and net‑zero power solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Review and assure product development and design (PDD) power and hybrid system designs for field practicality, safety and operational performance.
• Validate deployed designs against specifications and expected outcomes.
• Support proof‑of‑concept and pilot deployments of new technologies under live site conditions.
• Develop business cases for site upgrades, technology changes and design improvements, highlighting efficiency gains and ROI.
• Analyse asset lifecycle performance and failure trends to identify cost‑avoidance, warranty recovery and life‑extension opportunities.
• Provide structured feedback to update standards, improve designs and strengthen engineering governance.
• Identify and validate fuel‑reduction and energy‑efficiency opportunities to support reduced DG run‑hours and net‑zero pathways.

Required profile

• Significant experience in power systems engineering within telecom, energy or infrastructure environments.
• Proven background in design assurance and engineering validation.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable improvement plans.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise between design teams and field operations.
