Electrical Construction Manager

About the role

A leading engineering services company with over 130 years of history, covering mechanical, electrical, sprinkler and fire protection, waste-to-energy, lift, fabrication, BIM and more, is looking for an Electrical Construction Manager in the United Arab Emirates. The role covers all site construction aspects of the assigned project and its discipline, acting as the main point of contact for the construction team and managing subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

• Report directly to the Project Manager during execution and to the Pre-Construction Manager during tender; assist the tendering, handover documentation review and risk identification.
• Prepare labour forecasts and production inputs, and give discipline input to the project schedule.
• Manage subcontractors, chair weekly coordination meetings and keep subcontractors aligned with project milestones.
• Coordinate MEP disciplines, site equipment and scaffolding, and ensure work fronts are efficient.
• Track site progress, flag schedule risks and escalate construction issues affecting the programme to the Line Manager.
• Support QA/QC, BIM and Code A compliance, including red-line drawings, inspection approvals and the latest IFC drawings.
• Support procurement with MRs and RFQs, liaise with the commercial team on variations and hand over completed systems to Testing and Commissioning.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of work experience on construction projects.
• Electrical background; data centre project experience is an advantage.
• Relevant degree from a reputable university or trade qualification such as NVQ.
• Experience owning and managing commercial budgets.
• Ability to navigate the BIM Navis model (training provided).

Required skills

• Competence in Microsoft Office or equivalent PC applications.
• Knowledge of EHS and QA/QC requirements.
