Electrical Design Engineer

About the role

Parsons is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join its Abu Dhabi team. You will work on a variety of power‑related projects, applying engineering calculations and design standards to deliver reliable electrical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform design and analysis calculations for low, medium and high voltage networks, substations, pump stations, water and wastewater treatment plants, and industrial electrification.
• Create general arrangement layouts, single‑line, protection and schematic diagrams.
• Research design options, conduct value‑engineering studies and prepare technical documentation.
• Extract engineering data from CAD drawings, produce material take‑offs, estimates and surveys.
• Review shop drawings, supplier submissions and issue specifications, data sheets and construction documents.
• Conduct technical tender analyses and prepare evaluation reports.
• Provide guidance to CAD designers, drafters and junior engineers on project deliverables.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 4 years of progressive experience in electrical design.
• Professional Engineer registration may be required.
• Familiarity with IEC, BS and ANSI standards and local utility specifications (ADDC, TRANSCO, DEWA, FEWA).

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD and 3D design tools: AutoCAD, AutoCAD 3D, Revit.
• Experience using power‑system software such as ETAP, PSS Sincal, CYME, PRO design, AGI32 and Dialux.
• Strong knowledge of electrical protection, control and ELV systems.
