Electrical Engineer – Design & Power Systems

About the role

IMEP Engineering and Contracting LLC is seeking a full‑time Electrical Engineer to join its on‑site team in Dubai. You will be responsible for designing, reviewing, and optimizing electrical systems for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare technical drawings, schematics, layouts and specifications for electrical systems.
• Perform load calculations, power distribution design, panel scheduling, cable sizing and protection coordination.
• Conduct power system analyses such as load flow and short‑circuit studies.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, contractors and suppliers, and support site installation, testing and commissioning.
• Contribute to project planning, cost estimation and documentation while ensuring safety, sustainability and quality standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong foundation in electricity principles, relevant codes and standards.
• Experience in engineering and contracting environments, preferably on building or infrastructure projects.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and tender documents.

Required skills

• Electrical design and drafting (AutoCAD, Revit or similar).
• Power distribution system design, including panel schedules and cable sizing.
• Power systems analysis – load flow, short‑circuit studies, protection coordination.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools for documentation and reporting.
