Electrical Engineer III – 6 Month Contract

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer III to deliver engineering solutions on time, within budget and to quality standards for projects in Abu Dhabi. This 6‑month contract role involves preparing, reviewing and approving design documents, specifications and calculations for oil & gas, refinery, power and desalination facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Review project scope and finalize required deliverables.
• Prepare engineering philosophy, specifications, load lists, calculations, system studies, single line diagrams, schematics and cable schedules.
• Coordinate with clients, project managers and electrical counterparts; interface with process, mechanical, instrumentation, civil, structural and piping disciplines.
• Develop project plans, schedules and respond to technical queries and tender clarifications.
• Conduct site visits for verification of existing and new facilities.
• Ensure compliance with international, organizational and customer standards (IEEE, IEC, API, NFPA, BS).
• Support pre‑commissioning, testing and commissioning of electrical equipment.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical (or related technical degree).
• 8+ years of experience as an Electrical Engineer in oil & gas, refinery, power, desalination or petrochemical plants.
• Proven ability to perform engineering calculations, cable, generator and sub‑station equipment sizing.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills with excellent interpersonal abilities.

Required skills

• ETAP / EDSA software for power system studies.
• Engineering design and calculation tools.
• Knowledge of IEEE, IEC, API‑505, API‑540, NFPA and BS codes.
• Pre‑commissioning, testing and commissioning of electrical equipment.
