Electrical Engineer

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join its infrastructure team in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on the design and delivery of dry utilities, power substations, and telecommunication networks for large‑scale projects across the UAE and the Gulf region.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and apply Dubai, Abu Dhabi and KSA authority guidelines, standards, and requirements for electrical infrastructure.
• Develop designs for primary substations, EHV/HV/LV corridors, distribution and pocket substations, feeder pillars and service turrets up to 33 kV.
• Design telecommunication networks, including ducts, manholes and GSM tower coverage specifications.
• Produce street lighting layouts, lighting calculations, single‑line diagrams, load schedules and landscape lighting schemes.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (wet utilities, roads, transportation, landscape, building) throughout concept, master‑plan and IFC stages.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations and documentation for client review and regulatory approval.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Proven experience on infrastructure projects involving power and telecom systems.
• Strong knowledge of regional authority standards and utility design processes.
• Ability to work on‑site and collaborate with diverse engineering disciplines.
