Electrical/Electronics Technician – Slickline/ Wireline

About the role

The Wireline/Slickline electrician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing slickline units and associated tools to ensure reliable field operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting to keep equipment in optimal condition.
• Provide training to customers on proper use and maintenance of equipment.
• Conduct inspections and testing to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service reports, and equipment inspection records.
• Assist in equipment load outs, function tests, and mobilization of slickline units.
• Collaborate with field engineers, supervisors, and technicians to support smooth workshop operations.

Required profile

• Diploma or equivalent in a technical field (technical diploma preferred).
• 2–4 years’ experience as an electrician on low‑voltage equipment, preferably in oilfield, wireline or slickline operations.
• Familiarity with safe working practices in oilfield environments (H2S, confined space, pressure control).
• High safety awareness, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Ability to create and read electrical schematics.
• Strong electrical/electronics troubleshooting skills.
• Experience handling software and hardware issues related to equipment.
• Capability to read electrical drawings, schematics and service manuals.
