Elementary Teacher – August Start

About the role

GEMS American Academy in Abu Dhabi is seeking passionate elementary teachers to join the school from August 2026. The school follows an American curriculum with the International Baccalaureate continuum, fostering inquiry‑based learning and global citizenship.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, curriculum‑aligned lessons using inquiry‑based and differentiated instruction.
• Support diverse learners, including English language learners and gifted students.
• Maintain a positive, respectful classroom environment that encourages collaboration and well‑being.
• Integrate technology and innovative teaching approaches to enhance learning.
• Assess student progress through authentic methods and provide timely feedback.
• Collaborate with colleagues on unit planning and curriculum development.
• Participate in co‑curricular and community programmes to promote holistic education.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a subject‑related degree with a recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, PGDE, state licence).
• Proven experience teaching elementary grades, preferably within an American or IB context.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and an inclusive school culture.
