Emergency Medicine Physician (Consultant)

About the role

Stafmed is recruiting a Consultant Emergency Medicine Physician for a leading hospital in the United Arab Emirates. The role involves delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based emergency care in a fast‑paced, high‑performing department.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, resuscitate and manage patients presenting to the Emergency Department.
• Handle a wide range of acute medical, surgical, traumatic and critical cases.
• Lead initial stabilisation of critically ill or injured patients and perform emergency procedures within scope.
• Make timely decisions on admission, discharge, escalation and specialist referral.
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary and specialty teams.
• Provide clinical leadership, supervision and teaching to junior doctors and ED staff.
• Participate in emergency response, major incident management and departmental audits, quality improvement and education initiatives.

Required profile

• Board‑certified or recognised specialist qualification in Emergency Medicine (e.g., ABMS, UK CCT, Canadian Royal College, German Facharzt, etc.).
• Minimum 3–5 years post‑specialisation experience in Emergency Medicine.
• Proven experience managing critically ill, acutely unwell and trauma patients.
• Eligibility for Consultant‑level licensing with DHA, DOH or MOHAP.

Required skills

• Resuscitation techniques (e.g., ACLS, BLS).
• Emergency procedural skills (e.g., airway management, chest tube insertion).
• Critical care and trauma management.
