Engine Performance Engineer II

About the role

The Turbofan Performance Engineer will lead thermodynamic cycle analysis for turbofan engine architecture, supporting design, optimisation and validation from concept through certification and in‑service support. You will work closely with aircraft performance and system integration teams to ensure the engine meets thrust, fuel‑burn, efficiency and operability targets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed engine thermodynamic cycle models.
• Define engine decks, operating envelopes and performance targets.
• Collaborate with aircraft performance teams to optimise SFC, thrust, thermal efficiency and mission performance.
• Provide architecture advice and ensure consistency across system integration.
• Support test planning, instrumentation and post‑test analysis.

Required profile

• Master’s degree or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Turbomachinery, Fluid Dynamics or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in turbofan architecture, compressor/turbine matching and engine operability.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Preferred experience in gas‑turbine thermodynamics, aircraft propulsion integration and AI‑assisted design methods.
