Engineering Director

About the role

RED TIC is seeking an experienced Engineering Director to shape the strategic direction of its engineering department and drive the delivery of cutting‑edge solutions. The role involves leading cross‑functional teams, overseeing complex projects, and ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a strategic vision for the engineering department aligned with overall company goals.
• Lead, mentor and inspire engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and excellence.
• Oversee planning, execution and delivery of complex engineering projects, meeting quality, timeline and budget targets.
• Collaborate with product, operations and business stakeholders to align engineering efforts with priorities.
• Establish and enforce best practices, processes and methodologies to optimise efficiency and maintain high standards.
• Manage resource allocation, talent development and succession planning.
• Drive technological advancements and adopt state‑of‑the‑art tools, frameworks and techniques.
• Monitor KPIs, identify improvement opportunities and mitigate technical risks.
• Stay informed of industry trends and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive engineering experience, including at least 5 years in leadership roles.
• Proven track record managing large‑scale engineering projects and teams.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication and decision‑making skills.
• Hands‑on experience with modern engineering tools, technologies and architectures.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to balance long‑term vision and immediate priorities.
• Experience in fast‑paced, dynamic environments such as tech startups is a plus.
