Engineering Manager, AI Product & Platform

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Engineering Manager to lead and still build the team that creates an application where users watch, teach, correct and approve AI agents, as well as the platform that runs it. This is a greenfield effort within a semi‑government organization in Abu Dhabi, offering a modern tech stack and AI‑augmented engineering environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the product and platform team, hire engineers, and measure progress by delivering working software.
• Set technical direction for the application, platform, and on‑premise deployment, reviewing critical changes with a peer engineer.
• Run two‑week development cycles, ensuring working software at every review, using written communication by default.
• Coordinate with the research team on shared responsibilities and own delivery into business systems.

Required profile

• Managed a team of 4‑8 engineers, previously held a staff or lead role, and now leads a small team while owning a hard technical area.
• Founded or acted as a founding engineer of a product used by multiple users and hired its first engineers.
• Delivered on‑premise software into enterprise or government environments, passing audit and security reviews.
• Managed a team that built LLM‑based agents in production and can explain release decisions.
