Engineering Manager

About the role

We are seeking a technically strong, client‑oriented Engineering Manager to lead the delivery of AI‑powered applications for UAE federal and local government agencies. Based in Dubai, you will work closely with government stakeholders and drive the end‑to‑end development of intelligent solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of engineers building AI‑driven applications for public‑sector clients.
• Act as the primary technical liaison for UAE government stakeholders, conducting discovery workshops and presenting solutions at the executive level.
• Design, build and optimise full‑stack AI applications, including data pipelines, ML model integration, APIs and frontend interfaces.
• Develop and deploy LLM‑powered solutions, AI agents and intelligent automation tailored to government use cases.
• Architect and maintain robust API integrations between Scale’s platform and government or third‑party systems.
• Collaborate with product, go‑to‑market and government teams to translate requirements into scalable engineering solutions.
• Manage multiple concurrent workstreams, balancing delivery speed and quality.
• Mentor engineers, foster a culture of technical excellence and client focus, and contribute to engineering processes.

Required profile

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on AI/ML.
• 3+ years of engineering leadership experience managing high‑performing technical teams.
• Hands‑on experience building, fine‑tuning or deploying machine‑learning models and LLM‑based applications in production.
• Proven ability to work directly with senior government stakeholders and deliver client‑centric outcomes.
