Engineering Manager, UAE

About the role

Scale AI is expanding its Global Public Sector team and seeks a technically strong, client‑oriented Engineering Manager to lead AI application delivery for UAE government agencies. Based in the UAE, you will bridge high‑level government stakeholder discussions with hands‑on technical design, shaping AI‑first transformation across the public sector.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of engineers building AI‑powered applications for federal and local UAE government clients.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison for government stakeholders, conducting discovery workshops and presenting solutions at the executive level.
• Design, build, and optimise end‑to‑end full‑stack AI applications, including data pipelines, ML model integration, APIs, and frontend delivery.
• Develop and deploy LLM‑powered applications, AI agents, and intelligent automation tailored to government use cases.
• Architect and maintain robust API integrations between Scale’s platform and UAE government systems or third‑party services.
• Collaborate with product, go‑to‑market, and government teams to translate requirements into scalable engineering solutions.
• Manage multiple concurrent workstreams, balancing delivery speed with quality.
• Mentor engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and client focus.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading engineering teams delivering complex AI/ML solutions.
• Strong client‑facing skills with the ability to build trusted relationships with senior government officials.
• Comfortable navigating both technical design reviews and high‑level stakeholder meetings.
• Track record of delivering production‑grade AI applications in regulated or public‑sector environments.
