Engineering Services Manager

About the role

The Royal Women Hospital Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Engineering Services Manager to lead the maintenance and renovation of its utility equipment and facilities. This senior position oversees project planning, budgeting, compliance with local and international standards, and the welfare of the engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Decide on project modifications and renovations within the hospital premises.
• Plan, budget, and execute maintenance and construction projects.
• Liaise with government bodies and external contractors to ensure compliance with OSHMS, indoor air quality, and other regulations.
• Lead day‑to‑day operations, assign work to technicians, and schedule preventive maintenance.
• Conduct staff appraisals, training, and disciplinary actions.
• Identify risk factors, implement energy‑saving measures, and monitor utility consumption.
• Participate in the Facility Management Systems (FMS) committee and review departmental policies and SOPs.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing engineering or facilities services in a large healthcare environment.
• Strong knowledge of local and international health‑facility standards, OSHMS policies, and indoor air quality requirements.
• Excellent leadership, decision‑making, and communication skills.
• Ability to develop long‑term renovation plans and manage multi‑disciplinary teams.
