Engineering Shift Leader – Hotel Maintenance

About the role

The Engineering Shift Leader is responsible for maintaining the guest experience by promptly addressing repair requests and performing preventive maintenance across the hotel’s facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to guest repair requests and resolve maintenance issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical‑room assets, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment and machines; carry necessary equipment such as radios and tools.
• Identify, locate and operate shut‑off valves for equipment and building utilities.
• Maintain inventory, requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts using approved communication standards.
• Execute surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs, and clean work areas thoroughly.
• Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on plumbing, electrical components, HVAC filters, lighting, TVs and other guestroom items.
• Use Lockout/Tagout procedures before any maintenance work.
• Perform interior and exterior landscaping repairs, including sprinkler system maintenance.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in air‑conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment and general building maintenance.
• Ability to follow safety, security and company policies, report hazards and store flammable materials properly.
• Professional appearance, confidentiality of proprietary information and protection of company assets.
