Engineering Technology & AI Lead

About the role

SSE Engineering AG is seeking an Engineering Technology & AI Lead to transform how engineering projects are designed, executed, and delivered. You will partner directly with engineering and design teams to uncover inefficiencies, redesign workflows, and embed AI-driven automation that enhances speed, capacity, and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Map and analyse the 10‑20 highest‑volume, highest‑friction engineering processes.
• Assess automation potential using a metric of hours × frequency × complexity × error risk.
• Redesign workflows to boost engineering capacity, speed, and quality.
• Build and deploy practical Generative AI, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG), AI‑agent, and automation solutions.
• Create an internal Engineering AI Layer that integrates SSE data, standards, workflows, and knowledge.
• Integrate AI into existing engineering tools and systems rather than building isolated applications.
• Develop systems to capture and reuse engineering knowledge across projects.
• Measure impact through time saved, capacity created, quality improvements, and reduced rework.
• Establish a repeatable approach for future rollout across finance, HR, business development, operations, and other support functions.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience building and deploying Generative AI and agentic AI solutions.
• Proficient Python developer with a solid grasp of software architecture and production deployment.
• Experience with large language models, RAG, AI agents, APIs, databases, and cloud platforms.
• Background in processing unstructured data such as PDFs, documents, and images.
• Familiarity with engineering, construction, architecture, BIM, or technical project environments is highly desirable.
• Ability to translate real engineering problems into practical technology solutions.
