English Teacher – Immediate Start

About the role

GEMS International School, Dubai Hills is seeking an experienced English Teacher to join its dynamic IB World School community. The role starts immediately and focuses on delivering inquiry‑based learning that inspires curiosity and critical thinking.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry‑based English lessons for secondary students.
• Create an inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learning styles.
• Differentiate instruction for EAL learners, gifted students, and those needing additional support.
• Integrate technology and innovative approaches to enhance learning.
• Assess, record, and communicate student progress using data‑driven methods.
• Collaborate with colleagues to design and refine IB‑aligned curriculum and assessments.
• Participate in co‑curricular activities, school events, and community initiatives.
• Build positive relationships with parents and the wider school community.
• Engage in continuous professional development and reflect on practice.
• Uphold GEMS values and the IB Learner Profile.

Required profile

• Degree‑level teaching qualification (B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent) in English.
• Minimum three years of secondary English teaching experience, preferably within an IB curriculum.
• Experience with MYP or DP is a plus.
• Passion for innovative, inquiry‑based teaching.
• Commitment to professional growth and collaborative work.
