English Teacher - Immediate Start

About the role

GEMS International School, Dubai Hills is seeking an experienced English Teacher to join its IB World School community with an immediate start. You will work in a dynamic, forward‑thinking environment that values creativity, collaboration, and continuous professional growth.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry‑based English lessons for secondary students.
• Create an inclusive classroom that supports diverse learners, including EAL, gifted, and those needing additional support.
• Differentiate instruction and integrate technology to enhance learning.
• Assess, record, and communicate student progress using data‑driven approaches.
• Collaborate with colleagues to design and refine IB‑aligned curriculum, resources, and assessments.
• Participate in co‑curricular activities, school events, and community initiatives.
• Build positive relationships with parents and the wider school community.
• Engage in ongoing professional learning and uphold GEMS values and the IB Learner Profile.

Required profile

• A degree‑level teaching qualification (B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent) in English.
• Minimum three years of secondary English teaching experience.
• Experience with the IB curriculum is preferred, especially MYP or DP.
• Passion for innovative, inquiry‑based teaching and a commitment to student growth.
