About the role

Lead the Government & Public Sector investment banking franchise, managing and growing the client portfolio while supervising day‑to‑day activities of the team. Ensure revenue targets are met, client satisfaction is high and portfolio credit quality is maintained.

Key responsibilities

• Translate functional strategy into department business plans, ensuring vertical alignment and horizontal integration.
• Collaborate with Managing Directors to develop team strategy and increase the bank’s share of target clients’ wallet.
• Work closely with product teams and other stakeholders to maximise business opportunities and streamline deal execution.
• Contribute to talent development initiatives and ensure the availability of skilled resources.
• Drive adherence to organisational values and ethics, fostering a value‑driven culture.
• Manage P&L for the assigned portfolio, achieving targets within budget.
• Implement CIB policies, procedures and controls to meet procedural and legislative requirements.
• Participate in financial analysis of clients and industries to identify opportunities and risks.
• Originate new business across banking products and develop term sheets, information memoranda, financial models and mandate letters.
• Resolve credit, market and operational risk aspects in collaboration with product and enablement units.
• Maintain acceptable credit quality and achieve individual and team financial performance targets.
• Identify cross‑selling opportunities and increase cross‑sell ratio with key clients.
