Fabricator – PVC Fabrication

About the role

Georg Fischer’s GF Industry and Infrastructure Flow Solutions division is seeking a skilled Fabricator to join its PVC fabrication team in Dubai. You will work on the production of piping systems, ensuring precise cutting, joining, and assembly of plastic components for sustainable fluid transport.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret fabrication drawings to prepare raw materials and plan joins.
• Perform precise cutting and trimming using hand tools, band saws, mechanical cutters, and other machinery.
• Measure and mark materials with tapes, Vernier calipers, and bevel protractors.
• Execute hot‑air welding of PVC sheets and pipes using heat guns and welding equipment.
• Calculate material requirements based on drawings and create moulds, templates, fixtures, and jigs.
• Operate hand drilling, perforation, hollow cutter, slotting, bending, socketing, and radial‑arm cutting machines.
• Handle GRP lamination, adhesives, and lathe operations as needed.
• Participate in on‑site assembly and installation of fabricated components.

Required profile

• Industrial training certificate or equivalent technical qualification.
• Minimum three years of recent experience in PVC or plastic pipe and fitting fabrication.
• Experience in construction or manufacturing environments preferred.

Required skills

• PVC fabrication and hot‑air welding.
• Reading technical drawings and material calculation.
• Proficiency with hand tools, band saws, mechanical cutters, and precision measuring instruments.
• Knowledge of PVC fittings such as gully, sand, and grease traps.
• Ability to produce moulds, templates, fixtures, and jigs in wood and plastic.
• Operation of drilling, perforation, hollow cutter, slotting, bending, socketing, radial‑arm cutting, and lathe machines.
• Experience with GRP lamination and adhesive handling.
