Field Service Technician – Pipeline Installation & Inspection

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to lead inspection and quality assurance activities on oil‑and‑gas pipeline installation projects. The role involves on‑site monitoring of welding and coating processes, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and industry regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform on‑site inspections of pipeline installation, maintenance, and repair activities.
• Monitor and verify welding operations against approved procedures and standards.
• Inspect protective coating applications, including surface preparation and final assessment.
• Review inspection and test plans, drawings, procedures, and technical documentation.
• Witness and document hydrostatic testing and non‑destructive examination (NDE) where required.
• Identify and report non‑conformances, quality concerns, and installation issues.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate field records.
• Coordinate with project managers, construction teams, contractors, and customers to resolve technical issues.
• Support commissioning and start‑up activities and promote compliance with HSE policies.

Required profile

• Diploma or Technical Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Technology, Quality Assurance, or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of field experience in pipeline installation and inspection.
• Familiarity with pipeline construction methods, welding processes, and protective coating systems.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and quality documents.
• Effective communication and problem‑solving skills.
