Financial Control Manager – Retail Controlling

About the role

As the Financial Control Manager in Al Futtaim Retail Head Office, you will lead Central Retail Controlling tasks, ensure compliance with policies, mitigate financial risks, and support accurate reporting across the retail portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with transfer‑pricing transactions, balance‑sheet and high‑risk account reviews, and inter‑company transactions.
• Drive month‑end closing reviews, timeline management, and balance‑sheet clean‑up activities.
• Lead cost allocations, loyalty‑program management, revenue recognition, budget‑vs‑actual analysis, accruals and breakage management for multiple retail brands.
• Implement and maintain IFRS 16 lease accounting and PPE tracking, including reinstatement provisions.
• Oversee store insurance, gift‑voucher and promotion management, and inter‑company transactions.
• Ensure corporate income‑tax compliance, preparation, documentation and support tax‑planning initiatives.
• Prepare and present monthly and ad‑hoc financial analyses to cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors, ensuring accurate reporting and IFRS compliance.
• Initiate AI‑driven automation projects to improve finance processes and reporting efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field; professional qualification (CA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA) preferred.
• 6‑8 years of progressive experience in financial control, reporting, audit or retail finance within a large, complex organization.

Required skills

• ERP systems – preferably SAP (including SAP BW, BPC, SAC).
• Strong knowledge of IFRS 15 (Revenue Recognition) and IFRS 16 (Lease Accounting).
• Experience with Power BI, Power Automate and other AI or RPA tools for finance automation.
