Financial Control Manager – Retail Controlling

About the role

The Financial Control Manager will lead Central Retail Controlling activities for Al Futtaim Retail Head Office, ensuring compliance with policies, risk mitigation and accurate financial reporting across the retail portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with transfer pricing, balance‑sheet and high‑risk account reviews, handling inter‑company transactions and weekly/monthly reporting.
• Lead month‑end closing, balance‑sheet clean‑up, misstatement reviews and corrective actions.
• Manage cost allocations, loyalty program accounting, revenue recognition (budget vs. actual), accruals and breakage management.
• Oversee IFRS 16 lease accounting, PPE tracking, reinstatement provisions and related financial analysis.
• Monitor store insurance, gift‑voucher promotions, blue loyalty program and inter‑company transactions.
• Ensure corporate income‑tax compliance, documentation and support tax‑planning initiatives.
• Prepare and present monthly and ad‑hoc financial reports to cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors, ensuring adherence to IFRS and company policies.
• Drive AI‑based automation projects using Power BI, Power Automate, RPA and other digital finance tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field; CA, ACCA, CPA or CIMA highly preferred.
• 6–8 years of progressive experience in financial control, reporting, audit or retail finance within a large, complex organization.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS 15 (Revenue Recognition) and IFRS 16 (Lease Accounting) and fixed‑asset accounting.
• Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably SAP, and exposure to SAP BW/BPC/SAC.
