Financial Controller – International Finance & Investment

About the role

The Financial Controller will lead financial control, accounting, and investment analysis across multiple entities in Australia, Dubai and Vietnam. This senior position reports to senior management and supports strategic decision‑making for a high‑value marine and logistics portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee financial control and accounting operations across Australia, Dubai and Vietnam.
• Manage and coordinate finance teams in multiple international locations.
• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting and management accounts.
• Handle multi‑entity, multi‑currency and inter‑company accounting.
• Develop budgets, forecasts, cash‑flow projections and financial models.
• Monitor financial performance in each market and provide strategic recommendations.
• Establish and maintain strong internal financial controls and accounting procedures.
• Analyse investment opportunities, acquisitions and strategic business projects, including ROI analysis and due diligence.
• Oversee treasury, banking relationships, liquidity and cash management.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, legal advisors and banking partners.
• Ensure compliance with Australian, UAE and Vietnamese financial and tax regulations.
• Analyse operating costs, CAPEX, OPEX and profitability of superyachts, boats and marine assets.
• Support financial planning for yacht acquisition, ownership, operations and related investments.
• Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Develop and improve financial reporting systems, processes and controls.
• Provide senior management with commercially focused financial insights for strategic decisions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CPA, CFA or equivalent.
• 10+ years of relevant international finance and accounting experience.
• Proven experience managing finance across multiple countries and entities.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, financial controls and international accounting.
• Extensive experience in investment analysis, financial modelling and corporate finance.
• Excellent understanding of multi‑currency transactions and international banking.
• Experience working across Australia, UAE and Vietnam is highly preferred.
• Background in superyachts, marine, luxury assets, private investment, family office or high‑value asset management is a strong advantage.
• Previous experience leading international finance teams.
