Financial Controller

About the role

The Financial Controller will manage and process finance and accounting activities for EMOIL and EMDAD, ensuring accurate financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash‑flow monitoring in line with EMARAT policies, IFRS and applicable standards. The role serves as the finance focal point, supporting governance, audit requirements and Board reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for EMOIL and EMDAD.
• Execute month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Maintain general ledger accounts, reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Monitor balance‑sheet accounts and resolve outstanding items.
• Ensure accounting entries comply with EMARAT policies, IFRS and approved procedures.
• Develop budgets, forecasts, business plans and cash‑flow projections.
• Analyse actual performance against budget and provide variance explanations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CA or CMA preferred.
• 3‑5 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and closing.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, petroleum, terminal operations or JV accounting is a plus.
• Background in audit coordination, reconciliations and internal control requirements is advantageous.

Required skills

• Knowledge of IFRS and UAE accounting requirements.
• Proficiency with Oracle Financial systems or similar accounting software.
• Understanding of internal controls, ICFR and Delegation of Authority principles.
• Strong analytical ability, attention to detail and follow‑up discipline.
• Effective communication in English; Arabic proficiency preferred.
