Fire Truck Driver Operator

About the role

The Fire Truck Driver Operator is responsible for safely transporting fire appliances and associated equipment to incident sites, exercises and stations across the organisation. You will conduct vehicle checks, support firefighting and rescue operations, and assist with routine maintenance and equipment management.

Key responsibilities

• Drive fire appliances and ancillary vehicles safely, using defensive driving techniques and complying with traffic and emergency driving policies.
• Operate pumps, ladders, hose reels, lighting and other appliance‑mounted systems during incidents.
• Perform pre‑ and post‑shift vehicle and equipment inspections, record findings and report defects.
• Support routine cleaning, minor servicing and correct stowage of firefighting and rescue gear.
• Assist incident commanders with scene safety, traffic management and casualty support.
• Follow health and safety procedures, maintain PPE, and ensure compliance with regulatory inspections and driver qualifications.
• Complete vehicle logbooks, defect reports and other operational records accurately and on time.
• Participate in training drills, competency assessments and continuous improvement activities.

Required profile

• Full UAE driving licence with the appropriate heavy‑vehicle category and any required vocational endorsements.
• Relevant vocational training or certificates in appliance or pump operation (desirable).
• Previous experience in fire, rescue, emergency services or similar environments is advantageous.
• Demonstrated record of safe driving under operational pressure.
