Fleet and Asset Management Officer

About the role

Our client is looking for a highly organized and experienced professional to manage the company’s fleet of vehicles and construction equipment. The role will oversee a centralized digital inventory, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement in asset utilization across multiple sites and business units.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain an up‑to‑date database of all fleet vehicles and construction machinery, recording detailed asset information such as make, model, VIN, plate number, serial number and classification.
• Track and ensure timely renewal of registrations, insurance, permits and certifications, and monitor driver/operator licences.
• Coordinate inter‑site asset transfers, GPS installation/removal, and monitor asset allocation, utilization, downtime and operational efficiency.
• Manage preventive and corrective maintenance activities, maintain service records, monitor fuel consumption, odometer/hour‑meter readings and breakdown history.
• Support recruitment and coordination of drivers, operators, mechanics and workshop personnel.
• Oversee procurement, disposal, rental and hiring of vehicles and equipment, negotiate with suppliers and verify quotations, invoices and related documentation.
• Control fleet‑related expenses, implement cost‑saving initiatives and ensure smooth logistics support for projects.

Required profile

• Proven experience in fleet and asset management, preferably within construction or heavy‑equipment environments.
• Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, registration, insurance and permit requirements in the region.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage large volumes of data and documentation.
• Detail‑oriented and capable of coordinating multiple stakeholders across sites and business units.
