Fraud Intelligence Lead

About the role

Join Plaid’s Fraud Intelligence team to lead a high‑impact group of analysts focused on protecting our customers and partners from fraud. As a player‑coach, you will shape the team’s investigative standards while staying hands‑on with complex casework and critical incident response.

Key responsibilities

• Define and enforce rigorous casework quality standards for investigation, triage, and reporting.
• Coach analysts on investigative techniques, pattern synthesis, and translating findings into product and model inputs.
• Own coverage allocation across Protect, IDV, and Payments/ACH pods, adjusting assignments as volume shifts.
• Represent the Fraud Intelligence team in product and model roadmap discussions, turning case patterns into strategic priorities.
• Report team health, casework trends, and emerging risks to the Head of Fraud.
• Manage escalation paths for SEVs, legal, law‑enforcement, or regulatory involvement.
• Lead live investigations of complex fraud cases across identities, accounts, devices, and transaction surfaces.
• Reconstruct attacker sequences, hypothesize intent, and distill noisy signals into clear, actionable narratives.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading fraud investigation teams in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize diverse data sources into actionable insights.
• Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration and stakeholder reporting.
• Ability to handle high‑severity incidents and coordinate with legal or regulatory bodies.
