Full-Stack Engineer – Scalable Systems

About the role

Derq, an MIT spinoff focused on AI‑powered traffic safety, is seeking a senior Full‑Stack Engineer to help build scalable, high‑availability products for intelligent transportation systems. You will work across the entire stack – from responsive front‑ends to cloud‑native back‑ends and data pipelines – delivering features that directly impact real‑world deployments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain full‑stack applications using React (Remix), TypeScript and Vue.js.
• Build backend services and APIs with NestJS following micro‑service patterns.
• Integrate and optimise relational databases and data platforms.
• Create event‑driven cloud pipelines on AWS (S3, SQS, Lambda, Cognito, API Gateway).
• Develop ETL and data‑transformation workflows in Python.
• Deploy and manage containerised workloads with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and ArgoCD.
• Collaborate with product, engineering and deployment teams to deliver production‑ready solutions.
• Troubleshoot production issues, improve performance and support scalability initiatives.

Required profile

• 7+ years of full‑stack engineering experience.
• Proven track record building scalable, high‑availability platforms.
• Experience delivering customer‑facing applications and complex backend services.
• Ability to own features end‑to‑end in a fast‑moving environment.
