Gas Turbine Inspector

About the role

Sulzer is seeking a Gas Turbine Inspector to join its SASOS workshop in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on ensuring the quality and compliance of gas turbine components through thorough inspection and documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform bulk strip and detailed strip inspections of gas turbines.
• Prepare engine bulk strip and detailed defect reports.
• Carry out stage inspections during engine assembly.
• Control workshop order files and related documentation.
• Support Quality Assurance activities in the supervisor’s absence.
• Maintain calibrated and certified measuring equipment according to QMS manuals.
• Develop and revise workshop procedures as needed.
• Source alternative materials or repairs when OEM parts are unavailable.
• Manage shipping and receipt of materials with approved vendors.
• Issue certificates of conformity for customer‑supplied materials.
• Assist with shop‑floor fitting duties as directed.

Required profile

• Minimum NC Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; HNC Mech. Eng. preferred.
• Proven experience in a similar inspection role if formal qualifications are absent.
• Working knowledge of industrial or power gas turbines and associated equipment.
• Ability to read illustrated parts catalogues and engineering drawings.
