Gas Turbine Thermal System Engineer – Thermal, SAS, Whole Engine

About the role

PowerTech, a leading propulsion‑technology innovator, is seeking a Gas Turbine Thermal System Engineer to lead thermal analysis and design activities for turbojet and turbofan programs. The role combines advanced heat‑transfer modelling, fluid‑mechanics expertise, and mentorship of junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform component thermal analysis and generate thermal maps for engine parts.
• Conduct steady‑state and transient thermal and secondary‑flow assessments in gas‑turbine components.
• Design and size oil‑lubrication systems, including seals, sump, bearings and pumps.
• Develop and validate numerical and experimental methods for verification.
• Review designs, simulations and produce testing guidelines.
• Identify project risks and define mitigation plans.
• Support team members and provide technical feedback to junior engineers.

Required profile

• Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or related degree.
• 5–15 years of experience in gas‑turbine propulsion, heat transfer, thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.
• Fluent English communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with commercial simulation tools such as Ansys Workbench.
• Experience in FEA, CFD or lower‑order simulation methods.
• Knowledge of 1D flow‑network software (Flomaster, Amesim).
• Programming skills in C and Matlab/Simulink.
• Understanding of state‑of‑the‑art materials, aerodynamics and structural mechanics as they relate to thermal system design.
