General Accountant – French Standards (Dubai)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced General Accountant to join our growing organisation in Dubai. The role involves managing day‑to‑day accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, supporting statutory compliance and contributing to month‑end and year‑end reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger, record journal entries and reconcile financial transactions.
• Perform monthly bank and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
• Prepare and post accruals, pre‑payments and other month‑end adjustments.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities, including fixed‑asset registers.
• Prepare financial reports and support management reporting.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, French accounting standards, local regulations and VAT requirements.
• Support external auditors during annual audits and provide required documentation.
• Perform intercompany reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and strengthen internal controls.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of accounting or finance experience.
• Mandatory experience with French accounting standards.
• Previous experience at a Big 4 accounting firm.
• Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems.
