General Manager – Retail & Destination Asset Management

About the role

This senior position leads the operational, commercial and financial performance of a portfolio of high‑profile retail and lifestyle destinations in Dubai. The General Manager is accountable for driving asset value, tenant performance and an exceptional customer experience across multiple sites.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the overall strategy for asset performance, tenant mix and commercial growth.
• Manage asset‑level P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, CAPEX planning and OPEX optimisation.
• Monitor tenant trading results and work with leasing teams to optimise the tenant portfolio.
• Collaborate with retailers and marketing teams to increase footfall, engagement and sales.
• Oversee day‑to‑day operations such as facilities, security, cleaning, waste management and health & safety.
• Produce regular reports on financial performance, operational metrics and strategic initiatives.
• Conduct market research, competitor benchmarking and retail trade analysis to identify growth opportunities.
• Partner with development and project teams on asset enhancements, repositioning and capital projects.
• Lead cross‑functional teams, ensuring operational excellence and best‑in‑class customer experiences.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Economics, Real Estate or a related field.
• 15+ years of experience in retail asset management, shopping‑mall management, destination management or commercial real‑estate.
• Proven track record managing large‑scale retail, lifestyle or mixed‑use assets.
• Strong understanding of retail operations, tenant performance management and asset optimisation.
• Experience with full P&L responsibility, budgeting and financial reporting.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
