General Technician (Carpenter)

About the role

Avani Ibn Battuta Dubai Hotel is looking for a detail‑oriented Electrical Technician to join its maintenance team in Dubai. The role involves installing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems throughout the hotel while ensuring compliance with UAE safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Install, inspect and maintain electrical wiring, equipment and systems according to technical specifications and safety regulations.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions using testing equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes and circuit testers.
• Perform preventive maintenance to minimise downtime and optimise system performance.
• Analyse circuit diagrams, blueprints and technical documentation to identify issues and guide repairs.
• Repair or replace faulty components, wiring and equipment with precision.
• Conduct electrical testing and inspections to verify functionality and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs and equipment performance.
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to coordinate schedules and ensure project completion.
• Adhere to workplace safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of hands‑on experience in electrical maintenance, installation or repair.
• Proficiency with electrical testing and diagnostic tools (multimeter, oscilloscope, circuit tester).
• Strong knowledge of UAE electrical codes and safety standards.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and blueprints.
• Competency with hand tools and power tools commonly used in electrical work.
• Excellent organisational, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Capability to work independently and as part of a fast‑paced team.
• Valid electrical certification or licence (preferred).
• Commitment to workplace safety and preventive maintenance practices.
