General Technician – Civil

About the role

The General Technician – Civil will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing and enhancing all civil, structural and architectural elements of the Hyatt Place Dubai property. The role ensures a safe, functional and visually appealing environment for guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance programmes across the hotel.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations such as water ingress or flooding.
• Repair damaged walls, ceilings, floors and finishes, including plastering, painting, tiling and waterproofing.
• Carry out carpentry and masonry repairs, and support structural inspections.
• Follow health, safety, fire and environmental procedures, using PPE correctly and reporting hazards.
• Maintain professional interactions with guests, minimizing disruption during works.
• Uphold grooming standards, punctuality and support engineering projects as required.

Required profile

• Diploma, ITI, trade certification or equivalent in civil engineering, building maintenance, masonry, carpentry, construction technology or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience as a general, civil or maintenance technician, preferably in hotels, resorts, commercial buildings or large facilities.
