General Technician

About the role

Marriott International Hotels in Dubai is seeking a General Technician to join its facilities team. The role involves responding to guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring all hotel equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests and communicate resolutions.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical room assets.
• Inspect, lubricate, and clean equipment; carry necessary tools and radios.
• Identify and operate shut‑off valves for equipment and building utilities.
• Maintain inventory, requisition parts, and document daily activities for shift handover.
• Execute surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs.
• Test, troubleshoot, and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other guestroom items.
• Program TVs, manage housekeeping‑engineering inventory, and use Lockout/Tagout procedures before work.
• Perform interior and exterior landscaping repairs, including sprinkler systems.

Required profile

• Basic knowledge of air‑conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, and kitchen equipment.
• Ability to follow safety, security, and company policies.
• Professional appearance and strong communication with guests and team members.
