Geotechnical Engineer – Soil & Foundation Specialist

About the role

SOCOTEC is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to deliver high‑quality soil and foundation services for construction and infrastructure projects. You will work closely with authorities and clients to ensure compliance with local codes, particularly the Abu Dhabi regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide geotechnical engineering services in line with authority requirements, including soil test permits and borehole specifications.
• Review geotechnical investigation reports covering shallow foundations, deep piles, liquefaction analysis, and seismic design parameters.
• Assess geophysical investigation reports using MASW, ERT, CHS, and DHS methods.
• Evaluate dewatering method statements, calculations, and drawings.
• Analyse soil improvement reports and quality‑control test results for techniques such as dynamic compaction, drainage, vibration, pre‑compression, grouting, chemical stabilization, reinforcement, geotextiles, geomembranes, and stone columns.
• Attend technical meetings with project teams and clients.
• Ensure delivery within client‑defined timeframes while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering.
• Proven experience reviewing geotechnical and geophysical investigation reports.
• Familiarity with Abu Dhabi code requirements for seismic and foundation design.
• Strong understanding of soil improvement and dewatering techniques.
• Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary project teams.
