Global Field Service Engineer – Electrical (UAE National)

About the role

Join Baker Hughes' Global BRUSH Team as a Global Field Service Engineer – Electrical, supporting critical power generation and distribution projects across the region. You will work on‑site and offshore, delivering commissioning, upgrades, testing and training for high‑voltage equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Commission HV generators, motors, synchronous condensers, power management systems, protection systems, excitation controllers (AVR) and synchronising equipment.
• Perform upgrades to AVRs, PMS, synchronisers and protection relays.
• Conduct electrical testing on high‑ and low‑voltage equipment and machine windings in the field.
• Deliver product training to clients and field service colleagues.
• Interpret technical drawings, specifications and requirements.
• Attend technical meetings on‑site and at customer premises.
• Prepare method statements and risk assessments where required.
• Assist mechanical service engineers on multidisciplinary assignments.

Required profile

• Accredited Electrical or Electronic engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years experience in electrical power generation and distribution systems.
• Knowledge of networking protocols such as Modbus, Ethernet, IEC 61850 and fibre optics (advantageous).
• Strong understanding of Health, Safety & Environment practices.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Willingness to work overseas/offshore up to 29 weeks per year.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaborate with external stakeholders.
