Ground Operations Duty Manager

About the role

The Ground Operations Duty Manager will oversee 24/7 hub terminal operations for Etihad Airways in Abu Dhabi. Reporting to the Hub Operations Manager, you will ensure safety, security, on‑time performance and guest experience standards are met while managing third‑party ground handling suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Represent Etihad’s brand and reputation on‑site, handling service recovery and emergency incidents.
• Maintain safety, security and on‑time performance of terminal services during your shift.
• Monitor and enforce SLA compliance of third‑party ground handlers, taking corrective action when needed.
• Communicate proactively with peers, leadership, suppliers and control centres to support safe flight schedules.
• Report safety and security occurrences, hazards and near‑misses through established systems.
• Coordinate with Aircraft Dispatch and Load Control to stay aware of aircraft turnaround activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years (60 months) experience in airport ground operations or a similar environment.
• Proven ability to manage safety, security and performance metrics on a shift basis.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Experience in SLA monitoring and incident management.
