GSE Engineer – Maintenance & Reliability

About the role

The GSE Engineer is responsible for managing and optimizing the maintenance, reliability, and performance of ground support equipment used in airport operations. This role ensures that equipment such as tugs, GPUs, ACUs, and belt loaders are available, safe, and operating efficiently to support uninterrupted aircraft handling.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for all GSE assets.
• Monitor and track maintenance activities to minimise downtime and ensure timely completion.
• Prepare and manage work orders, job cards, and documentation in line with OEM guidelines.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams, operations, and procurement to secure spare parts and resources.
• Analyse equipment performance data to identify trends, reduce breakdowns, and improve efficiency.
• Maintain accurate asset records, maintenance logs, and service histories.
• Ensure compliance with aviation regulatory standards (FAA, EASA) and internal HSE requirements.
• Support budgeting, cost control, and lifecycle planning for parts and equipment.
• Participate in audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
• Provide recommendations on equipment upgrades, replacement strategies, and lifecycle optimisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in GSE, fleet maintenance, or heavy‑equipment maintenance planning.
• Experience in aviation or airport operations is highly preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with maintenance management systems such as SAP or Maximo.
• Strong understanding of OEM manuals and maintenance planning processes.
• Knowledge of aviation regulatory standards (FAA, EASA).
• Ability to analyse performance and reliability data.
