Head Barista – Specialty Coffee Lead

About the role

Grain Cafe is seeking an experienced Head Barista to lead its specialty coffee operations in Dubai. You will be responsible for maintaining the highest quality standards while driving innovation in beverage development.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily coffee preparation, ensuring consistent taste, presentation, and recipe adherence.
• Train, mentor, and motivate a team of baristas to deliver exceptional service.
• Develop new hot and cold beverage recipes, manage costing, and update the menu.
• Monitor inventory, control waste, and maintain accurate stock levels.
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, food safety, and health‑and‑safety regulations.
• Prepare operational reports and analyze performance metrics.

Required profile

• 8–10 years of barista experience in the UAE, preferably in specialty coffee.
• Strong leadership and team‑management abilities.
• Passion for coffee innovation and continuous professional development.
• Fluent English communication skills, both spoken and written.
• Valid UAE driving licence.

Required skills

• Espresso calibration and coffee equipment operation.
• Inventory management and waste reduction.
• Report preparation using computer applications.
