Head Nurse - OPD

About the role

The Head Nurse – OPD will lead the outpatient department, ensuring safe, effective and patient‑centred care while overseeing clinical activities and supporting the nursing team.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure delivery of safe, appropriate and effective care to all patients in the unit.
• Assess patients, determine nursing interventions, prioritize needs and evaluate outcomes.
• Develop, revise and implement individualized plans of care.
• Coordinate clinical activities when acting as charge nurse and collaborate on staffing.
• Plan, implement and evaluate clinical programmes and patient education.
• Maintain accurate real‑time clinical records and perform advanced nursing skills.
• Act as a clinical resource, represent nursing in multidisciplinary rounds and promote evidence‑based practice.
• Provide essential life support (BLS, PALS, ACLS, Neonatal Resuscitation) as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing nursing teams and influencing change.
• Registered Nurse licence with the relevant UAE health authority.
• Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider card.
• Strong decision‑making and communication skills in English.
• Desirable: ability to work in an inter‑professional team, administrative skills for EMR documentation, and Arabic communication ability.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation certification.
• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems for clinical documentation.
