Head of English Editorial

About the role

The Head of English Editorial will lead the English editorial function, overseeing daily production, editing, quality control and timely delivery of press and editorial content. The role manages a team, coordinates with the Arabic editorial team and ensures consistency of narrative across both languages.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the English editorial team, reviewing, editing and finalising press releases, statements, news stories and digital content.
• Oversee daily editorial traffic, allocate work, track assignments and ensure deadlines are met.
• Coordinate with the Arabic editorial team to align narratives, terminology and factual accuracy across both language versions.
• Maintain and continuously improve editorial standards, style guides and terminology references.
• Verify facts, names and critical information before publication and escalate sensitive matters when needed.
• Support rapid turnaround of urgent and time‑sensitive communications.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Media, Translation or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in editorial, newsroom or press communications, with proven team‑leadership experience.
• Professional fluency in both English and Arabic, with ability to adapt Arabic source material into natural English.
• Experience managing high‑volume editorial workflows in fast‑paced environments such as media organisations or corporate communications.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating Arabic and English editorial content.
